PROJECT
As a central civic center plaza and park, these spaces are designed to serve as a place that helps establish the community vision. With an interactive water feature, seating areas and space for food vendors, the plaza serves as a threshold into the park. The excavated soil from the site were retained and regarded to form sculpted earth mounds. Historical elements include the preservation of a walnut grove and an existing wood barn structure. Storm water from the park restroom structures and barn roofs are collected in a cistern to filter and control the water released into the adjacent creek. Additional landscape elements such as parking lot bioswales, detention pond improvements and the enhanced wildlife corridor highlight the team’s commitment to sustainable practices.
